this Renault kangoo is what passes for a rental car at Avis in Argentina.
400km on the clock
roll up windows
No cruise
No power locks
Bitchin' 5 on the floor
I'm really liking it. My wife and I agree that this will probably be the most reliable car in the world since there is nothing to break.

I am more than okay with this.
The rental I was provided with after an unfortunate incident with my Nissan Pathfinder was a '15 GMC Yukon SLE. It had 96km on the clock when I picked it up and things that are wrong with it include but are not limited to: The stereo keeps freezing, the stitching on the steering wheel is coming undone, the steering wheel isn't on straight, and it was stuck in 4WD for a few days. All this said, I like it... (This is in Ontario, Canada).

I'm surprised they still sell that 90s era first gen Kangoo in South America. The parents of a high school friend of mine had a few of these in the late 90s. With the optional power locks/windows and AC buy without the optional AWD. They're very practical vehicles, especially for the very low price.

my neighbors in germany had one. When they got it, it was considered "ungodly huge" by german standards

Ungodly tall maybe, but huge? A compact little van in Germany? I'm in Germany right now, and when I look out of the window as I write this I'm seeing lots of vehicles that are larger. Including my own.

they got theirs in 2002 or so. This was the same time period that people would walk by the Pontiac Montana in my parent's driveway and just look at it and shake their head.
Hell, my uncle asked my mom why she needed an 8 passenger minivan with (gasp!) a V6! This was all before the SUV/Crossover fade got popular in germany.
